I loved the power pop music explosion that occurred in the Knack's wake, with the Shoes, The Beat, the Records, and, of course, the Sorrows. Newcomers should separate this 1970s-80s band from the same-named 1960s group that has much more to offer on CD. I desperately want the Sorrows' second--and last--album "Love to Late" which includes one of the best pop songs ever written--"Christabelle." But until that album is issued, I have to be content with a remixed version of the Sorrows' first album and some worthy bonus tracks. Highlights are the pop-with-a-punch tunes "I Don't Like it Like That," "Teenage Heartbreak" and "All You Gotta Say" and the pretty "Can't Go Back" and "She Comes and Goes." Putting the group in perspective, I'm sure you heard "There She Goes" by Sixpence None the Richer. Now go back and listen to the original version by the La's and you will get an idea of the Sorrows' sound.
