I bought this almost 4 years ago at the start of the pandemic, as I finally had time to work on the house. I had seen a similar weathervane from the same company on a neighbor's house for several years and was always admiring it.Installation took a little time to do right, but the videos on their website made it very straightforward. I was a little nervous about putting screws into my roof, but they showed me how to seal and preserve the area so there'd be no issues - 100% great experience. The unit has functioned great and looked incredible since - the patina has aged nicely, and we get many compliments. However - after the last crazy pineapple express in CA, the two part pole that the vane sits on unscrewed. The vane slid off the roof and landed on a flowerbed. The vane was in great shape - it took the beating with no issues. The pole and one of the brass balls were missing, though. When this company says they guarantee their products - they mean it. They agreed that the two poles shouldn't have come undone - the person I spoke to said this was only about the fifth time he's dealt with this in ~20 years. They sent me out a new two-piece pole set (and some Loctite) and a new set of decorative balls - immediately - no hassles. They even sent an upgraded roof mount. If you are looking for a weathervane - this is the one you want!
