This is not a bed in a box. It is delivered as a real sized mattress and I had to be home to receive it. I had researched and actually purchased a couple of bed in box mattress that I found just weren`t comfortable. I wanted one that felt bouncy like the one I slept in as a child. So I did some research. The bed in box mattresses have individual wrapped coils so that they can be compressed and shipped in a box. This mattress has a vertical coil system ( an old style, continuous mesh of coils) that cannot be squished down. This one also has a reinforced steel edges that none of the mattress in boxes have.When it arrived, I set it up on my box springs and could immediately tell the difference in the bounciness. I put a 3 inch memory foam over it, and slept better than I have in over a year. Honestly, it is too firm for me without an extra foam layer because I sleep on my side. I will never purchase another bed in box again.Took a chance and am very happy.Firm but not too firm, double-sided so it will last twice as long by flipping it once a month. Pretty outer cover. Got a good deal price-wise.pillow top not as good it should be. The edges are breaking down and I have a sick wife and I do not want to moving her around to get or exchange matteress I'll just keep this one rather go thru all the complications of exchanging matteress.Thank YouStephen G. Lo segundo es que enseñan un sistema de esprines bien aceptable pero todo es diferente. Me siento burlada al hacerles esta compra a ustedes. Me duele porque soy pobre y no tengo $411.00 a manos llenas, pero si pudiera, echara esos colchones a la basura y comprara otros.Quilted stitching on both sides of mattress is loose, undone, and defective. Will be buying a mattress that I can see before purchasing, and not online. I would not recommend.Absolutely the worst mattress I have ever seen! Can squeeze it together with your hand! Buyers beware!!product came damaged ticking on bottom of box spring was all busted loose. Had to nail all that back on. pain there!but overall mattress is comfortable. not sure if I would order on line again hmnnn???If you want a firm mattress this is for you! I love this product! Was not happy with how it got here. It had a hole in the base because packaging was damaged
