The Dovecote Manor Bird House by Good Directions is a fortress to be reckoned with. Solidly built using resilient long-lasting Mango hardwood and copper, this bird hotel is built to last. While it attracts attention as an ideal outdoor accent, its removable copper roof offers the easiest access. Equipped with a long-lasting mango hardwood base to enhance durability. Air vents circulate fresh air through the space and drainage holes are in the base. The Dovecote Manor brings flocks of feathered-friends together, providing a place of refuge from any weather. Very attractive, well constructed with a better and longer lasting roof than the previous shingle type that our two previous ones had. Fits perfectly and securely without needing screws, etc. on standard "4x4" post (which actually is 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"). Only con is that roof just drops onto housing without a method to secure it; however, it seems stable and doubt that it would become dislodged in moderately strong wind or otherwise, and does make it easy to remove to clean out the house. After looking at other alternative dovecotes we are very satisfied with choosing this one.
