I did a lot of research of steel and the best for knives. This knife is very very good quality however it is not for someone who is even slightly irresponsible with knives. Since their is not locking mechanism this means that if you're not careful you can accidentally fold this knife on your hand. (Which is something you should know before buying anyways.) This knife is beautiful and I received so many compliments and the Damascus is the real deal! I love how the actual blade looks and feels. Let me tell you this blade is RAZOR sharp!! Definitely one of the sharpest knives I've ever used out of the box. Capable of cutting through paper with ease by little force and won't give you any issues if you know how to use it. The reason I've given this 4 stars is because I really wish it had a little bigger size and a little more "fin" to flick it open. Other than that this knife would be 100% 5 stars!!Although this is a beautiful piece, without an effective blade lock it is too dangerous to use. I bought this as a gift and the recipient (not a knife novice) required multiple sutures to repair the damage the knife caused.I’m returning the knife so no one else Is injured by it and would caution anyone who is considering purchasing it.The knife dosent have lock after you open it..it closes itself up easy to cut your handGreat looking knife, was not crazy bout the clip point but it has been VERY USEFUL. Blade is a bit thin and brittle feeling, but it’s a gentlemen’s knife, so that topic is moot. Sharpens EASILY! Hand rubbed Damascus blade is sexy. BIG CON AND REASON FOR NON-5 star rating; the double detent on this knife wears down on its rigidity over time (2 months) the blade will sometime close and if you aren’t used to that it could injure someone BADLY! Definitely for someone who has experience with knifes and less for younger children. Other than that, great edc/gentleman’s knife. Oh lastly the rose carbon damascus in blue and black is bad to the bone! Very Hogue delika esk. Prolly keep it for a bit longer though before i resale. Bought second hand off eBay btw.
