I have been sleeping this mattress topper for a good 3 days now and it has taken away all my joint pains.I will start by sharing that this topper will mirror what you put it on. That means, if you have a mushy soft bed then it will also be soft. If you have a firm surface it will also be firm. So it will not make your bed firm if you are using it to offset an old soft mattress. But if you have a mattress that is too firm it will add a sense of cushiness to that surface.The main thing being the material does absolutely help with relieving pressure points. I had hip and shoulder pain due to my mattress being too soft. Albeit I did put a piece of high-density foam between the mattress and the topper to offset the mushiness of my current mattress. That really helped to firm it up a bit and then by putting this topper on top of that it surely took away all of my joint pains! And I am able to go to sleep so much easier without tossing and turning to try to find a positon that does not hurt my shoulder.With that being said, this does not have cooling gel in it (disappointing) so it does sleep a bit hot. But I am just going to put a 1-inch gel memory foam topper on top of it to give it a sense of coolness, we will see how that goes.Essentially, I cannot afford a $500 mattress and it is really hard to find just the right firmness to give me the support I need with the right pressure point relieving qualities. So after years of fighting with buying different mattresses, I am just going to pretty much make my own to give me all the qualities I need in a mattress. Yes, it may cost me a good $200 ish but at least I will have the qualities I need to get a good night's sleep.Here on Amazon, they have high-density and medium-density foam that is not too terribly expensive and does not have that awful fiberglass fire retardant that seems to be in most inexpensive mattresses. (that is another issue I have with buying inexpensive mattresses, I don't want that fiberglass). So, I am down to sort of fashioning (McGivering) my own. And you know, I think it might work. I will have the opportunity to use the correct materials for my needs.Also, I am trying to find the right bed for VanLife so this is my way of doing that.Essentially, I recommend this mattress topper for those who would like to give yourself great pressure point releif as well as good back alignment. I am sleeping better and more refreshed than ever before!4 month update.Sleeping at least 6 hours through the night. I used to wake up every 2 hours, probably from pain. Now, no more shoulder or hip pain. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
