Product Description

2.5 Sone Operation Sones are a unit of measurement used to quantify the perceived sound level of a fan. The lower the sones, the quieter the fan. 1 Sone is similar to the sound of a refrigerator or whisper, while 3 sones are similar to a normal conversation. Ideal for Medium Rooms Proper ventilation is essential to prevent issues such as mold, mildew, and excessive humidity in your bathroom. Choosing the right CFM rating ensures efficient air exchange and comfortable environment. A general guideline is to choose a fan with a CFM rating that is appropriate for your bathroom size. 90 CFM Operation Calculate CFM by multiplying the length by width of your bathroom. If your bathroom is 9ft x 8ft, you need a fan that is rated for at least 76 CFM.

I am always hesitant when I buy anything like this on Amazon because you never know if the quality was misrepresented or not, but this particular piece was up to my expectations.Pros1. The installation instructions were easy to follow and included images as well as clear written directions.2. The quietness of the fan is a major bonus. I called my wife on my cellphone and turned the fan on and she could not hear it over the phone. In my opinion, that is REALLY quiet.3. The design is very clean and looks high quality.Cons1. The glass portion has a marble-like "swirl" pattern that is barely visible in the manufacturer pictures. I don't mind it and my wife actually likes it, but it would be nice to know these details beforehand, especially if you already have some type of pattern in place that it would clash with.2. The chrome finish is less than perfect in places. You really can't see it once the piece is on your ceiling, but there are some minor flaws in it.NOTE: The manufacturer states that you should mount the vent fan portion flush with the ceiling. This is very important. As you can see from my picture, the only way for the fan to vent air is by a small gap between the edge of the glass globe and the ceiling. If you recess the vent box ANY at all then you lose that gap and it will not allow enough airflow to vent properly.
