This is an excellent overview on growing and showing beautiful roses. It's been many years since I exhibited, so I purchased this book to help get me back up to speed. Bob Martin, the author, is generous in sharing his knowledge and experience. I enjoyed reading the fine details of rose exhibition, and the writer's sense of humor.I like that the book includes information on how a rose show is run, and what the duties are of various committees. After I read this book I volunteered to work on Placement and as a clerk at a local rose show, and was glad to have the information on the jobs ahead of time.There is a wealth of information on grooming and staging roses for a rose show. Very detailed instructions!A couple of things are outdated now, the lists of exhibition roses that are the top winners are not current, but that information can easily be found online. And some things have changed in the field of chemicals used for spraying against diseases and pests.All in all, a great read. I've gone through it twice already!
